Calabar Museum

The Old Residency stands on a hill that overlooks the waterfront.
It was built in Glasgow and then shipped over in pieces.
It used to be the colonial government residency and is now
the Calabar History museum, hosting a good collection of documents
on the region, his economy, the slave trade...
Impressive.

I'm sorry I don't have many pics to share...
one more time I was asked not to take photos.

I see you have a Creative Commons licence displayed. I have taken the liberty of copying your picture that shows the volume of the English slave trade. I'd like to show it on my blog to mark the date of the freeing of slaves in America. I will of course link back to yours but if you want me to remove it, I will.

Malheuresement je ne peux pas dire tout ça en français:)

Hello, G@ttoGiallo!

I am a brazilian historian, and I'm developing a scientific research at my university about Slave History Museum, in Calabar, and how it represents the slave trade period and the impacts to nigerian society. Unfortunately I still haven't found any information about the existence and exhibition of this museum nowadays. Could you tell me if this museum still exists? And could I contact you by e-mail to have some other informations? Absolutely I would credit you in my research.

I appreciate your attention.

I think the Calabar History museum is still alive and well. This said, you'd better ask Google (https://goo.gl/V5vpM8) for any info on this matter. If you need any of my images, please respect the terms of my CC license: BY-NC-SA - Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike - and send me a link to your publication. Thanks.

Actually I've already done this (google searching). I and my university we are trying to contact the museum and the embassies. Therefore, I was expecting some opinion from someone who has visited the museum at the last years, and I enjoyed your blog. About the images, I'm not interested, I only needed these first informations. Anyway, thanks.
